Portrait Schedule and Pricing: Oil on Canvas/ or Board

Procedure
A photo session of an hour will be held at the client's convenience. ASHLEITH will take the photos, usually two rolls of 36 photos. A professional photography sitting would be at the expense of the client but ASHLEITH asks that she be present. After discussing the photographs, noting the best pose with the client she will suggest a composition and perhaps a size if the client is unresolved. A time line will be set.

Payment:
A 50% deposit is required when the portrait's dimension, and composition is approved by the client. The balance is due upon completion and acceptance.

ASHLEITH has the skills to represent the likeness in the photograph chosen. If the painting is being commissioned by a committee she asks that only one person be selected to make any adjustments or corrections as everyone has a different perspective as after the second viewing, or sitting it is difficult to make major changes.

Sizes listed are for basic comparisons to give the client an understanding of price structure. Fees listed are for a single-figure with a tonal background. Elaborate detail in clothing or background increases the fees because the time needed to complete such detail can extend the completion of the painting by many weeks or perhaps months.

Personally I prefer to develop a fairly dramatic portrait rather than the straightforward approach.

Travel: All travel expenses from Santa Fe will be paid by the client.
